Changing a passcode on your iPhone is mainly used for security reasons, (ex., someone hacking into your device) but can also be used just because you want one. Most people use it for safety.
STEPS
_ 1OPEN SETTINGS APP. The settings app is the app with the gears on it, like most settings icons.

2
TAP THE GENERAL BUTTON. The General button also has a set of gears.

3
FIND THE PASSCODE LOCK BUTTON. Tap on it.

4
TYPE IN YOUR CURRENT PASSCODE.

5
GO TO EITHER CHANGE PASSCODE_ OR _SIMPLE PASSCODE_
_ 6TYPE IN YOUR NEW PASSCODE
IF YOU TAP SIMPLE PASSCODE_, AND THE TOGGLE IS ORIGINALLY SET TO OFF, YOU WILL HAVE TO TYPE IN A PASSCODE USING THE KEYBOARD.
If you tap _change passcode_, then you will have to type in a four digit code.

WARNINGS
Try not to lose your passcode, as you might have to restore it.
